The Massachusetts state director for the Humane Society will be giving a presentation on Effective Animal Advocacy (facebook event) at Loving Hut at 11am. Right afterwards, there will the monthly all-vegan buffet fundraiser at Loving Hut (also on facebook). The workshop is free, but if you stick around for the buffet it’s $10 and 10% of your check is donated to VegWorcester.

If you still haven’t had enough excitement, join Massachusetts Animal Rights Coalition at 2pm for an anti-fur protest at the Greendale Mall. Many of the members will be at the buffet, so you can likely carpool from there.

On the second Saturday of every month, from noon-5pm, there’s a $10 vegan mock-meat bonanza at Loving Hut. This weekend, we’re celebrating 2 years of support from the restaurant. VegWorcester will present the restaurant with a certificate of appreciation and Loving Hut is promising some kind of surprise for the customers who come out to teh buffet this Saturday.

If you haven’t been to a Loving Hut buffet in a while, don’t miss this one.

Loving Hut Chandler’s monthly vegan buffet fundraiser is this weekend– Saturday, October 8th, from noon-5pm, 415 Chandler St. Worcester, MA. As always – ALL VEGAN! ALL TASTY! ALL YOU CAN EAT! Its only $10, and 10% of proceeds are donated to VegWorcester to support local events and outreach. This week, some members of VegWorcester will be attending the Ringling Circus Protest in Worcester from 1:00-3:30 at the DCU Center, so if you’re coming to the protest with us, join us afterwards also for the Loving Hut Buffet from 3:30-5:00pm.

Remember to always get a new plate (for health code reasons,) and please only take what you can eat! Plates of wasted delicious vegan food are a big no-no! Loving Hut always has new vegan items in the fridge, so go ahead and buy something to take home and try out your mad cookin skills. Burnside Foutain Pop-up, Feb 13

Have you heard of Burnside Fountain’s pop-up restaurant events? Show your sweetie how in the know you are by picking up two tickets to this all-vegan pre-Valentines Day underground restaurant on Sunday, February 13. Tickets are $25 and by reservation only. Burnside Fountain is the restaurant equivalent of a flash mob. It’s a fine-dining establishment that vanishes when the night is done. This weekend will be its second pop-up event. If the harvest event was any indication, this Valentines dinner is going to be impressive. What can be more romantic than a mysterious restaurant that only exists for one night?

At Burnside you can expect a three-course, fixed-menu meal that fuses American comfort food with exotic Asian flavors. The first course is Philly spring rolls served aside a wedge salad, followed by a southern-baked veg. chicken entrée with a side of wasabi-infused potatoes covered with brown miso gravy. For desert, a raspberry mochi (Japanese sweet rice balls) with Thai peanut sauce will be served. Expect all the amenities of a fine-dining experience. Dress appropriately.

Loving Hut Buffet, Feb 12

Show your crush your loving side by going to a special valentine fundraiser buffet at Loving Hut (415 Chandler St) this Saturday, February 12, from noon-5pm. Loving Hut has been holding buffet fundraisers regularly for more than a year now, and this one is going to be special. It just so happens that the monthly buffet falls on Valentines Day weekend, so the Loving Hut kitchen will be developing two new dishes to launch at the buffet. The sugar on top is that the restaurant will be donating 10 percent of the day’s proceeds to VegWorcester, the group putting together VegFest on April 17 at Worcester State.

Plus, the place is called the Loving Hut, for goodness sake.

If the weekend passes and you still haven’t wooed your loved one, stop by The Bean Counter (113 Highland St) and pick up a vegan cupcake or a half dozen cookies. Or book a dinner reservation at EVO (232 Chandler St). EVO’s veg steak and cheese is their most impressive dish, but sharing a vegan cheese pizza may make the meal a little more intimate. No Valentines Day dinner should go without desert, so be sure to split a chocolate-fudge sundae with non-dairy ice cream.
