This past Sunday, July 22nd, Dr. Will Tuttle, award-winning speaker, educator, musician and author of the #1 best-seller The World Peace Diet, gave a presentation at Worcester’s Loving Hut (Chandler.)Â The World Peace Diet: Eating for Spiritual Health and Social Harmony presents the outlines of a more empowering understanding of our world, based on a comprehension of the far-reaching implications of our food choices.
Seating was limited and The Loving Hut was a full house, packed with locals who were curious to hear about the book and Tuttle’s stance on the connections between our culture and our food. Tuttle spoke for about 90 minutes and also took some questions from the crowd.
Tuttle spoke of the “primitive, violent agriculture system” where “in the U.S. alone, 75 million animals are used for food.” He warned in a quote by Jiddu Krishnamurt, that “It’s no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society,” and stressed that there is “no movement more needing of our energy and attention” than a plant-based vegan lifestyle.
Although Tuttle explained much about the horrors of factory farming cruelty and its negative effect on the environment, culture, health (both physical and spiritual,) he also stressed a positive and uplifting message of non-violence, compassion and self-reflection, noting that “we can create alternative communities” and be “a part of the solution.”
Following the presentation, Will Tuttle signed books and joined everyone for the all-you-can-eat vegan buffet offered by The Loving Hut.
If you missed it, try to catch him before he heads back West next week! He’ll be speaking at The Be The Change World Peace Conference Saturday July 28th 3-8pm in Harvard MA and the next day at The Maple Farm Sanctuary Potluck Sunday July 29th 1-4pm.
