Cup of Woo: Worcester Mag Reviews Buddha Hut Soups
In addition to the mention of the 2010 Mac Daddy Competition, this week’s Worcester Magazine features a review of Buddha Hut’s soups. Here is a clip from the review:
Renée ordered the seafood noodle soup, and I tried the spicy Thai coconut. While both had excellent flavors, we were somewhat disappointed in each. My spicy soup had next to no spice, while Renée found hers too spicy. There also was a lack of seafood — imitation seafood of course — in the soup; only about three pieces of imitation crabmeat were found along with two vegan “meat”balls. Although mine lacked spice, and featured two of my least favorite vegetables — peas and green beans — the flavor was good enough that I could still enjoy it.
It’s too bad that the reviewer didn’t try the Italian meatball soup. In November 2009, Buddha Hut’s meatball soup made it onto VegCooking’s list of top ten vegan meatball dishes in America.
In other Buddha Hut news, they are holding an all-you-can-eat vegan buffet on Saturday, Feb 13. Noon-7pm. $10. The buffet usually features a soup, along with a ton of really yummy mock meat dishes. I’m sure you’ll love it.
