Crissy from The Pretenders Tells Audience to Berate Meat Eaters

Yesterday 3 of us VegWorcester members set up a veg booth at The Pretenders show at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston. It went great! Lots of people signed the Meat’s Not Green petition, there were tons of weirdos to talk to, it was a blast.

My favorite part of the show was when Crissy Hynde, the lead singer of The Pretenders, told everyone to hassle people for eating meat. She said she used to be more aggressive towards meat eaters, but has calmed down a little recently. But then said, “Aw fuck it, I still hate the meat eaters. Berate them. ”

Haha, we certainly weren’t berating people at our table, but it was sweet to get a shout-out.

Here are some photos:

This article brings up an interesting point–

It’s weird how meat-eaters lack of logic (“But meat tastes GOOD”) can lead a veg*n to alienate those to whom we try to show the logical-compassion of veg*nism.

I would agree with the Veg Worcester team’s approach.
    Rage privately, accept/praise openly.

    Good job.
