New Film from the Author of Fast Food Nation
Posted by Drew.
There’s a trailer on youtube for a new film by Eric Schlosser, the author of Fast Food Nation (which was later made into a movie). It’s a critical look at how our food is made. It seems to cover a few different kinds of foods, not just animal products.
The catchy part of the trailer shows examples of how large argi-business tries to use imagery to convince us that our food is coming from those iconic family farms of a hundred years ago. Of course that’s far from the truth. Old Macdonald’s farm has been replaced with McDonald’s giant factory farms. Nearly all meat, dairy and eggs come from factory farms, where “animals and workers are abused,” as the trailer’s narrator points out.
It’s unclear from the trailer when the film will be released, but rumor is that it will be release June 12.
Thanks for the link, Court!
