Boston Veg Society Holiday Get-Together – Dec 12

Boston Vegetarian Society is having a holiday get-together in Jamaica Plains (Boston) on the evening of December 12, complete with vegan deserts and pizza. This is the kind of event we need to put together in Worcester. What better way to build a social movement than to to gett together over yummy vegan food?

You’re invited!  Join us for a holiday season get-together featuring free
tastings of luscious vegan desserts from Fiore’s vegan baker in Jamaica
Plain!  Come sample traditional favorites and new creations by Karina
Khan.

Vegan sandwiches, pizza, soups, and spinach pies will be available for
purchase, so you can have a savory supper, too!  (menu below)

Here are the vegan savories available to purchase and eat at the party.
(The bakery/cafe is not entirely veg*n.)

All sandwiches come with chips, pickle, and soda or bottled water.

Nona:
Breaded Eggplant, basil, tomato, roasted red peppers, olive oil, balsamic
vinaigrette, and cashew cheez on focaccia bread. $6.95

Falafel-licious:
Baked chickpea falafel, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and ginger tahini
dressing in a wrap. $6.95

Eartha Kit:
Hummus, cucumber, sprouts, baby spinach, shredded carrots, tomato, and
olives with vegan dressing in a wrap. $6.95

Smokey:
Baked smoked tofu, BBQ sauce, tomato, lettuce, onion, in a wrap with
vegan cheddar cheez.  $6.95

Pirate:
Garlic Herb marinated Seitan, baby spinach, roasted red peppers,
sun-dried tomato, soy feta cheez, black olive spread, artichoke tapenade,
and balsamic vinaigrette on ciabatta bread.  $6.95

Vegan Lunchbox: Your choice of spinach pie, vegan pizza, or veggie scone
with hummus, pita, falafel patties, and a chocolate chip cookie,  $6.95

Spinach Pie: Whole wheat filo dough filled with spinach and cashew cheez.

Vegan Pizza Slice: Fresh vegetables and cashew cheez.  $3

Vegan Soup of the day:  cup $3   bowl $4

DIRECTIONS:

Center Street is the main street in Jamaica Plain.  Heading west on
Center St. at the fork (at the Monument) where Center St. veers to the
right, stay left, putting you on South St.  Travel a block or two, and
Fiore’s is on your right side.  There are two steps up to the entry door.

By T:
Take the Orange Line to Forest Hills station.  Head towards J.P. center,
walking about 6-8 minutes up South Street.  Fiore’s will be on your left
side, just past Harvest Coop Market.  Or, you can get the #39 bus at
Forest Hills station and get off opposite Harvest Coop/Fiore’s.

By bus:
Take the #39 bus that goes from Copley Square (departs opposite the
Fairmont Copley Hotel) to Forest Hills.  Travel via Huntington Avenue
into J.P.   Get off at Harvest Coop, next to Fiore’s.
